Math, the oh so ever feared subject. But why is every student so afraid of math? Math has been viewed as a difficult subject, especially since the inclusion of numbers and letters. Math is a very important subject, it is all around us in the real world. We use math to find the discounts of items, measurements when we cook, how long will your car go with only one gallon of gas, and the list goes on! It is important that we study math and truly understand the concepts given because every year the math builds on. If math isn't your favorite subject right now, my goal is to make the class relatable so that by the end of the year, it will be!

What is Math 8?Math 8 is similar to Pre-Algebra. It was created when Common Core came to life. Math 8 focuses on preparing each student to be ready for Algebra. This includes understanding the number system (if a number is rational or irrational), formulating expressions and equations, and even using a little bit of geometry. |
What is Algebra?Algebra is a type of math has symbols and rules to manipulate, or change, those symbols. Those symbols are what you call variables; they represent an unknown value by using letters such as x. Think of it as how in English we uses sentences in order to describe relationships between characters, algebra uses equations to describe the relationships with the variables! |
